Re: Thermocoupler reading odd - CTC sailfish

yeah, thanks. It might have a minor bit i'll have to check to see if that is creating interfering but I don't think it is. Print is finished.. looks good, there is a very tiny bit of spikeing, in about one place, so that's more then acceptable, and there is a bit of angel hair between some bits, whi...

Re: Thermocoupler reading odd - CTC sailfish

erm.. mm.. I decided to try yet another Thermocouple which.. I think I might have done a bit on it to rewrite it from an older brake or something, anyway.. while still printing via a test print at 160.. it's coming out fine.. (well, it's 60% right now so I can't fully tell till it's 100% done but st...

Re: Thermocoupler reading odd - CTC sailfish

mm.. can't see anything wrong with the extruder itself bit.. the heating element? … mm.. should be fine and it does heat up... but I see what you mean.. if it was on the blink, but would that interfere with the reading of the sensor?

Re: Thermocoupler reading odd - CTC sailfish

could be.. though as I said, I tried a bunch.. some brand new.. so while it's possible, it seams unlikely and I can't remember the correct way to test them with something like a multimeter

Thermocoupler reading odd - CTC sailfish

I got a CTC standard replicator clone with Sailfish installed. a while back the thermocouple broke which happens every so often when the wire gets a bit too close to the hot end and kinda burns through.. anyway.. nothing odd there.. But when I connected up a new coupler, it was erratic with it's rea...

Re: Printer reads high (670c+) temperature even without sensor connected

thanks but no matter what thermocouple I use, same thing, even when I have none plugged in.
I've brought a new motherboard and installed that and it's fine now, and comes with a firmware upgrade so that's fine ^_^

Printer reads high (670c+) temperature even without sensor connected

Well.. I got a real dozzy of a problem right now.. after a okay print, I shut the printer off.. no problem.. next day, went to use it and the cooling fan on the printer head (one of two) turns on after a second (so, when it's booted).. then after a few seconds, it says it's failed heat error #1, it'...

Re: Thicker layer offset

I think I feel really guity.. I was sure I had commented on it, but I haven't.. My printer is a off-brand Replicator Dual.. two heads.. I noticed the other day that the left head seams to have dropped a tiny bit.. I took it off completely and did a test.. then gave it a good clean and back on.. I th...

Re: Thicker layer offset

okay, no new pictures just now.. didn't think much of how they turned out for a start and nothing really new.. Found out the filament was slipping into the U clip for the cables for the print head, so it was getting a bit tight. sorted that out now but seams to have some (quite a few) layer gaps.. p...

Re: Thicker layer offset

yeah, distance Tech support is always a bugger.. I have cleaned and re-oiled (lightly) the rods, checked the filament flow, checked the screws and most of the things I can think of and i'll try to run a couple of test prints tonight. I don't think it's doing it at a set height only cause when I prin...
