Re: psu not working

we don't know your board or printer specifically but they are easy to source. use this as an opportunity to get a good one. you could use a ramps 1.4 and these are on amazon. but we can't say what board is good for your printer.

Re: CTC DIY printer help please

so, if you are going to use the same filament you can leave it in. With our Prusa i3 to change filament we cut the filament just where it feeds into the hobbed bolt heat the extruder and then feed the new filament through, by hand. Then once it is in sufficiently we then manually extrude some until ...

Re: CTC DIY printer help please

I cannot tell you about these printers but they are a simple Prusa i3 clone. My first thought would be does it have that functionality, I think that is unlikely. Generally you would manually load them but pushing the filament into the ptfe tubing that runs to the hot end. Usually, depending on the e...

Re: psu not working

The BANG and smoke part does not sound good (sure you didn't have it on 110v), I take it this was the PSU. It is quite possible you fried your mainboard as well although it does not sound like this was working. If you had power to the cooling fan then that would suggest that the board was getting po...

Re: psu not working

Did you receive a psu with your printer? Perhaps you could supply a photograph of the printer with cables etc.. If there is no on off switch then the circuit would be live when you turned the power on at the plug. You could have a faulty PSU but the first thing you should do is check that all the wi...

Re: printer to make stamps

I think that most printers are going to be able to make stamps. The main thing is to pick a material that is food contact safe. Colorfabb nGen is probably your best bet as it is easy to print with, produces good surface detail and, according to colorfabb is contact food safe. The next question is: h...

Re: Design details

Hi, How are you designing your model, what software are you using. What you would need to do is create a solid in the dimensions you have listed and then for the holes create solid cylinders of the diameter you want for the hole and the height corresponding to the depth of the hole. Then position th...

Re: Too poor to buy cheap- getting what you pay for

Yes who you buy it from also makes a difference as they should be helping you to get the most out of your machine and resolve print issues. But, if it is built poorly in the first place and the components are substandard, all the best support in the world is not going to resolve it. Yes and you are ...

Re: Too poor to buy cheap- getting what you pay for

Yes a lot of them are.

it all comes down to the quality of the components. We have looked at importing prusa i3 kits as a lot of people won't these because theyr'e cheap but non that we have found have the quality required.

you definitely get what you pay for.
