Hi,
I'm about to purchase my 1st 3D printer. Any tips on which to get around £300?
So far I'm between:
XYZ Davinci Junior or
CTC dual extruder mk8
I'd be grateful for any advice.
Cheers :D

I think we gave an answer to this on .org forum but we can say it again here. If you are after the Da Vinci Junior we currently have a deal going at the moment for a Da vinci Junior + XYZ printing's new hand-held 3D scanner for £363 all in. It saves you about £70.

I don't know what would be better.

The Junior is going to be simpler to operate and the CTC will have more bells and whistles but all the bells and whistles won't necessarily work to the level that makes them practical.

Dual extruder printers sound great but it is not that easy to get them to work well so unless you have a particular reason for it I would not bother. They can be very handy where you want to make designs using two different materials (using different colours is not so important).

Basically the CTC will have a steeper learning curve than the other and require more tweaking. But if you stick with it it may pay dividends if you want to start doing more sophisticated printing, although by that time you will probably have out grown both.

XYZ Davinci Junior is fine or you can try to save up more money to buy a more reliable 3D printer like Printrbot play or a Novio 3D printer.

Yite ET 3D Printers should be your first choice 3D printers :D There are various models for your choice, cheap to run, reliable, accurate, high-precision desk-top 3D printers. Of course we would recommend our own printers - but you don't have to just take our word for it! You can see more details of our 3d printers here: http://et3d.en.alibaba.com/

Yes, I've made about 15-20 prints. I had a couple of teething problems at first, like getting the print to stick, but now it's set up i have no issues.
I'm on thingiverse - mepaulc - if you wanted to have a look at some

Cheers
