So this is a simple thread for this forum topic. Why not tell us about your 3D scanner experiences. We only know about 3D systems Sense and iSense 3D scanner as these are the models that we sell. Their seems to be a new kid on the block in the form of the Fuel3D at the moment which looked good at the TCT show at the NEC in 2014.

So what not tell us about your experiences?

Most scanners are currently quite ok unless you are into industrials scanners.

what about industrial 3D scanners, do you not think that they are OK. Obviously expensive though.

We have not experienced scanners greatly.

Generally very expensive and sometimes not very accurate.

I have worked with a stationary 3D scanner once but it still needed some improvements. Most of the good ones are expensive. And I am really looking forward to work with hand held scanners.

Unless expensive, dreadfully useless

According to me 3D printer is the most expensive printer. I personally use da Vinci Jr. 1.0 3 in 1 Wireless 3D Scanner which is a very good printer according to my working experience, the laser head lifetime is short because it can heat quickly. I'd say it depends... There are a few tricks that make it possible to get good scans even with budget 3d sensors for a couple of hundred euros. For example, you have a good old Kinect v2 and of course the received 3D scans are of poor quality and you need to spend a lot of time on their post-processing to get nice 3D models. Many people do not know that there's a special 3D scanning software, such as Skanect, which works well with these 3D sensors and allows to improve the quality of scanning. In addition, some big companies manufacturers of 3D scanners adapt their specialized software to work with low-budget 3D sensors. But of course the accuracy and quality of 3D scanning, as well as speed, greatly depends on the cost of a 3d scanner. My experience in this field is not great - I worked with Kinect, Asus Xtion and with used Artec Lite. The difference is certainly noticeable.
