Hi Everyone,
I would like to introduce ourselves to this forum. We are 3dex and we sell filament in the UK. You can see our website here: http://www.3dexfilament.co.uk We hope that some of you might be inclined to try some filament from us as we stock excellent quality filaments including PLA, ABS and exotics.
However, we don't just provide filament. We are also keen 3D printer enthusiasts and we hope to make some great contributions on this forum. I personally hope to share some of my builds with you. I mainly print parts for quadcopters but generally print anything of interest to me. Its great to be part of this community and we hope you don't mind our presence on this forum.

Re: Introducing a new filament supplier
Yes I have been able to get some printing done on 3D Printing Day.
I printed a little tank. A tank is probably not such a suitable print on a day which is designed to unite many people but Ive been wanting to print this for a while now and only found the time today. The turret on top of the tack actually rotates. Printed in Black PLA from www.3dexfilament.co.uk
I would like to upload a photo but am not quite sure at the moment.
Anyone else up to much printing?
Regards,
Will

Re: Introducing a new filament supplier
The model is sanded and then metal polish was used. It does come out very well. The weight of Copperfill also adds a nice feel to the finished article. We have been looking for a good model of this sort to test out metal impregnated filaments as we thought that they would work very well for this type of object. We will keep our eye open for some more good models.3DexLtd wrote:That does look good - Bravo!! How did you finish the print?
At the end of the day the guy who made the model did a very nice job.

Thats very nice.
Yes I finish all my prints with Brasso which is a metal polish. The effect on PLA and ABS is to make it very smooth but with the metal filaments it also brings out the metal.
