help for a noobie please

Hi All

Just got my 3d printer last week and been trying to print some tests, however i keep coming up with these shocking results.

Any thoughts what it could be?

Tried levelling the bed using the paper method (slight friction with std A4 copy paper) but still cant get it to print correctly.

Printer: Malyan 150 (Wanhoa copy)
Filament: PETG
Cura settings:
Layer height: 0.2
Infill: 70
Build plate adhesion on
Petg Settings: Cura default
Build Plate has Buildtak - not hairspray or chemical adhesion

And another 1 with larger squares - same settings as before. Starting to lose the will to live on this, so PLEASE help if you can:

First picture looks better than the last.

The last picture is possibly over extrusion but there also is an issue of stringing which is part to retraction settings and temperature of hot end.

The first one looks like a straight bed adhesion issue.

so in order to get things started.

1. if you are new to 3D printing - use PLA filament . it is the easiest to use
2. Don't use poor quality filament

before you start doing any printing follow steps 1 & 2

3. make sure that the x stage is level, the two sides of the extruder carriage on the z axis screws. I am assuming that this is like a prusa i3 which is what the wanhao is based on

4. then level the bed - papers thickness

5. print out a simple 20mm cube. we recommend our famous iDig3Dprinting 20mm calibration cube.

6. start off with about 200-210 c hotend and a 60C bed

then see how you do.

Apart from leveling the print bed properly, you need to check for the extrusion issues and bed adhesion too. Besides, check your 3D printing filament too and get the one in good quality for better results. As for more information as a newbie you can read some 3D Printing Blogs.
