Unmarked Proximity Sensors: BEWARE!

This is specifically related to Tina2 and Tina2S, but I imagine other FDM printers also use the same sensors, hence I'm posting in the non-specific section.

I ordered a LJ12A3-4-Z/BX sensor from an eBay seller. What arrived is unmarked but looks the same... except it isn't. Fitted in my Tina2, it ...

Re: Tina2/2S Firmware

I see the firmware currently available for download from the Entina website is:

Tina2: ENTINA_TINA2_FactoryFile_ENG_240410.zip *

Tina2S: ENTINA_TINA2S_FactoryFile_ENG_240410.zip

It has been pointed out to me the above downloads are the contents of the SD card, not the installed firmware ...

Re: How do you store your filament ?

I bought a cheap analogue thermometer+hygrometer from an eBay seller. I have no idea how accurately it's calibrated, but...

When it arrived, the hygrometer was indicating "50%". Sealed into a ziplock bag with a reel of filament and a silica gel pack, and most of the air sucked out, it eventually ...

Re: Combating Warping

I'm getting big improvements in warping (PLA) with the heated bed on my Tina2S.

Off-the-wall idea here: if the build area doesn't need cooling for PLA, but the head break does, what about reversing the flow of the fan (by physically mounting it the other way around)? The idea is that the fan will ...

Re: Tina2/2S Firmware

I've been trying to get information about the 240410 firmware, by emailing support @ Enitina and through the Tina2 user groups on FB. Support's initial response was (I paraphrase) "what firmware?"!

When I pressed for version history, they basically said they do not recommend installing firmware ...

Re: Tina2/2S Firmware

The golden rule I fly by is not to fix what ain't broke. I do not risk firmware updates unless it is to address a specific problem I'm having and I'm absolutely sure the update will cure it.

Care to explain? You seem pretty gung-ho about disassembling the printer(s), and firmware updates are ...

Re: Tina2/2S Print Volume and Cura

That's interesting. So either the Tina2 profile needs adjusting to 100x115 to allow some margin, or 105x120 to maximise build area. And for Tina2S the existing 100x110 is good for margin or could be 105x114 maximum.

My next question is: how does one go about altering a printer profile?

Re: How Thick is a Piece of Paper?

Following repair of my 2S ( see here ), I set up a 100x120x0.3mm slab in FreeCAD and exported it to Cura. Then I discovered Cura doesn't like going right up to the edge (even with no brim, I guess that's reasonable) so I scaled the slab (in Cura) to 90x110x0.3 and it still wouldn't fit!

The weird ...

Re: Tina2S Bed Levelling Issue

So......

I was examining my Tina2S in the light of @CrazyIvan's recent posts, and I discovered the Y belt guide pulley (idler pulley?) mounting was cracked. The screw through the flange bearings secures into a threaded insert, which is heat-pressed into a molded seating in the printer's base ...
